~ computer: is an electronic device that is capable of accepting data and manipulating these data by performing mathematical and logical operations to produce information.
~ data: refers to raw facts and figures.
~ information: refers to processed data
~ system: elements that are grouped together to accomplish one task.
~ computer system: made up of different parts called the "components". These components work together to help us perform our tasks.
~ input: information is supplied to the computer for processing.
~ process: this stage happens inside the computer where the data undergoes changes.
~ output: the final stage which the transformed data is produced. The transformed data is also called "information".

~ hardware: refers to the physical components of the computer system. (example: keyboard, monitor, mouse, etc.)
~ software: a term that is used to describe any computer programs or applications. Without the software, you will not be able to use the computer. (example: google, opera, etc.)
~ peopleware: refers to the men and women who work with computers. It also includes people who use computers to perform their jobs and daily tasks. (example: technicians, programmers, etc.)
